Returning for the sixth year, Pacing 4 Pieces Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk will be March 10 in downtown Florence. This event is the largest fundraiser for All 4 Autism, with more than 500 registered runners in 2017. Money raised from the race funds the Autism Resource Center of the Pee Dee, the first and only in the region.
Amy Pennington, a mother of a child with autism, started this race as a way to gain awareness in our area and raise money for resources and support for local families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. This community event will be held on the 100 block of Dargan Street in Downtown Florence, with the Half Marathon starting at 9 a.m. The PIECE JAM After Party begins at 11 a.m., and is open to the public. There will be live music, food and beverage vendors, Kids Zone, activities and more. There will be a Kids Dash at 11:30 a.m. and awards will be given out at noon.
Race registration is open and can be found at www.all4autism.org. Sponsorships are available, with a variety of levels and benefits. Sponsors will enjoy the private VIP Area, complete with hors d'oeuvres, samples of local craft libations, seating, photo booth and other goodies.
