Santee Electric Cooperative was formed in the late 1930's and was chartered on December 14, 1939, after years of hard work by volunteers who scoured the countryside getting members to sign up for the service. No one else would provide electricity in the rural areas. Santee Electric's primary purpose is to provide its members with the best possible electric service at the lowest possible cost.

Calling all rising seniors

Each year, Santee Electric Cooperative, Inc. selects two high school students to represent the co-op as delegates for the Washington Youth Tour. In the summer before their senior year, these two lucky students join hundreds of others from across the country - all-expenses paid - to network and learn about our nation's capital.
